Under Construction

Bye bye school year and hello summer program!!! It has been a busy week before the summer program starts on Monday. This week it's a "packing week", I mean literally packing, we gather boxes from every sources we could think of and we even solicited from parents help to bring us boxes. The order for us is to vacate the rooms was deemed tiring and stressful but every teachers and everybody was being helpful and we made it! Every teacher had emptied their classroom in due time which is today is the last day. However despite of those commotions of packing and moving here and there the kids loved it. It became an activity for them and they are so excited about the "make over". By Monday our school building will be under construction.
However the program still be in progress despite of the construction and we are utilizing the SOC (Student Outreach Center) and I admit the rooms in the SOC are not roomy but just right for the children and some centers on it. This construction has to be done before the school year will start on August and I can't wait for this "make over". It's going to be exciting and interesting scenario on Monday and yet we can witness the progress on this construction on our very own eyes although just partly because we'll be attending our classes hehehe.

So this weekend is totally my day off to take some rest atleast for few hours before I head to my part time job. But my boys - Glenn and Kyle will be wandering just themselves. Glenn will be fishing with his buddy and Kyle will be partying with his Aunt Jocelyn. Sounds GREAT! In fact me and Kyle already packed his back pack for tomorrow he even gathered all his beach paraphernalia for their swimming tomorrow from his sunblock down to his goggles. I can't wait to find out when they get back home tomorrow night.

It'd be a very interesting Monday since the construction will begin.

Graduation Day!!!

Yay our beloved son graduated from K-4!!! We are super excited to witness this memorable event of his life with his fellow pre-schoolers on stage. It was a simple graduation ceremony but lavished with adorable and superb pre-schoolers. They were surely the higlight of that day definitely. It was a mix feeling of emotions watching them ramped on stage, a feeling of joy because they completed the K-4 and a feeling of sadness because we will definitely miss the teacher and especially the his classmates. They have been together and become friends since they were toddler and from not being potty train and up to this time. All of them will be going to different schools and to where Kyle is going nobody from his class would be there but Kyle.
The parents of this class are so awesome and sweet. I will definitely miss them too. Anyway back to Kyle's graduation it was pretty good. Their teacher really worked hard for the kids to master those graduation songs wondefully. It was perfectly sang and so compelling. Me and Glenn just so proud watching them. They are so excited to received their diploma even though it was accompanied with some bloopers heheheh. Some of them just showing their silliness and really stir up the crowd hehehe. Our Kyle did great in singing so proud of all the pre-schoolers. I can't wait to find out how would they handle the BIG school by fall.
CONGRATULATIONS KYLE!!!

Under the Weather

It has been a loaded weekend, I tell you. I bet for you guys out there weekend is such an exciting time, well not quite for me. After my weekday job I have to go to my part time job on weekends and so, that leave Kyle and Glenn just by themselves. So far Glenn and Kyle had their quality time together without me. I definitely miss this time because normally we are somewhere else wandering but actually they still do wander without me and Kyle always good in updating me in where and what they did while I was at work. He has always something surprises for me laid on the table so that when I come home it'll be ready! How sweet is he? He is the sweetest angel.

But anyway this weekend when I came home he approached and told me that his forehead is hot that he tried to drink water but still his temperature won't disappear. When I felt him he was indeed running a fever. Then the first thing came up to my mind was "oh God forbid not a flu...", after watching so much news regarding the "swine flu" phenomenon that makes me worried. So we gave him Tylenol and his fever went away but on Sunday morning he woke up fine but few hours later his temperature went back again and this time it really worried me so we waited and didn't give him anything to see if his body will fight on it. I believed that when that time we gave him medicine his temperature went away but when the effectivity on it runs out his fever went back. So I decided to be off from school and keep him at home in case his fever comes back. And thank God he's out from that fever virus. The blue sky is finally back. That's about it!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

How we define mother? It is challenging to define- a woman who conceives, give birth, raises and nurture a child or in any way how you define it. It's a hard profession to be a mother because you are nurturing a child until he becomes a full pledge adult huh!!! It's a lifetime commitment. God had blessed us a wonderful son "Kyle" he's five years old now and everyday it's a precious milestone for the three of us, everyday is a new learning approach and how we cope up with it. I have learned a lot of things it's basically an "on the job training" description of being a mom. That's why all the mother deserve this special day of recognition.

But how do I celebrate mother's day? We don't do elaborate celebration just to be with my family is a special day. Kyle made it more exciting because of his preparation-surprises for Mommy for the whole week. Everyday he made me cards and and his artwork speaks at all . He made the coolest stuff at school, about "Mommy's favorite recipe" and his teacher wrote down

"A doughbo"
Ingredients:

  • white chicken
  • soy sauce

  • Directions for cooking: Put on a plate then microwave and eat it!

Truthfully "Adobo" is Kyle's favorite and when I cook Adobo I always cook a lot and I will put the rest in a container and refrigerate it by the time he wants to eat some more I will just warm it up. That's why the microwave concept came in. Isn't it wonderful how our kids pay attention on us. But I was tickled because his teacher never heard of it and she didn't even know the write way to spell it cause Kyle just dictated it to her. We had our "Muffin's for Mom" celebration at school where we sat with them. It was so much fun!

Today, Mother's Day we went out and have lunch together in our favorite restaurant. Glenn and Kyle gave me gift card with their wonderful and sweet message for me with their surprise gift to me. They definitely rock my day!!! He always make my day fun and restful when I come home from my jobs. I have bunch of jobs trying to cope up the crisis. My husband was SUPER nice to let me work this many hehehe. I love you Honeybun. I hope to hear from all the mothers out there on how do you celebrate your mother's day? And that's about it!

    Slim Down

Are you tired of dieting? Well I am but I never really had a serious diet not at all. I had tried Slim Fast before because the advertisement was so enticing but unfortunately it didn't work out because it makes me starve more. It can't sustain for a thorough physical activities it makes me weak and my energy level went down and the result I replenished those energy with foods especially sweet treats. I personally an avid fan of sweets and carbs. I can gobble a king size of candy in an instant on the way back home from work. The only thing I admire to myself is I don't like soda but I love water, water and water. So I decided to stop from drinking Slim Fast.
So I switched by just eating salad twice a day with a spoonful of salad dressing or sometimes none because I don't like dressing at all. But guess what? It's becoming so plain and boring. So I went back to my normal routine which is eating regular meals. But biggest problem is I will have a bad addiction of sweets especially when I'm at work. I can consumed a bag of Hershey Kisses alone in a short period of time but when I am at home I am fine. Glenn my husband always wondering why I complain too much about myself? Because according to him I am just RIGHT! I told him that he is such I liar but SUPER nice husband. Anyway it's just a girl thing to be a diet freak.
All of the above approach didn't work on me right so I decided to better stick in monitoring portion size and I jot down all the food that I ate including the calories in order for me to track down the my daily targeted calories and so far it works in one week but later on I quit writing -my laziness just click on me, why is that, that the sustainability only lasted a week? I think it's only self-determination and I don't have it but despite of it I manage to exercise and watch I ate. If I have sweet clash I make sure I burn calories through exercising. It's a tiring routine but it makes me feel better if I do exercise and knowing I burn some calories. I added fruits and leafy vegetables on my meals to give me some fiber and above all I watch my portion size.It feels good not to over eat and when you do exercise it does relaxes you. What about you have you taking steps to slim down? If so please share it too. That's about it!

    Kyle's K Enrollment

This is my most awaited moment to get ready to send Kyle to BIG school. It has been a talk for while for Kyle's biggest transition -to be in another school. He's been in pre-school since he was a toddler and previliged enough to have some great friends at this school but when we started talking about him going to big school he didn't like it at all. He just wanted to stayat Brookwood (present school). Brookwood offered Kindergarten but I opted to send him to a public school. So one day we drove by to his school to be just to get a feel of it, when he saw it he became excited. He instantly claim it as his BIG school. Playground was fascinated him the most. We didn't have time to take a peek of what's inside since it was no school day when we came by. This school was actually recently built and it has pretty facade too. So today is the first day of enrollment for Kindergarten class. So I decided to came by to school today about 7:40 am hoping to pick up the enrollment packet although they provided online access for registration forms that you can just fill it out but unfortunately my printer is out of ink. But unfortunately they told me to come back at 12 which the enrollment schedule begins. So I went and took Kyle with me and I have to fill out 18 pages of paper pertaining to Kyle's enrollment it was a lot!. While doing so one of the Kindergarten teachers asked me if she can borrow Kyle for a minute for some talk. It's probably about 10 steps away from me I can hear Kyle answering her teacher. Then I've found out that they are having interview for the coming Kindergartners-COOL! Few minutes later Kyle was brought back by the teacher and she told me that Kyle did great!!! Kyle told me that he did a lot of answering in fact the teacher asked him to count and so he did but asked to stop because he's fixing to count up to a hundred hehehe. I am so proud of Kyle!!! Their open house will be on August and we can't wait to find out his new BIG school adventure...
