I just personally started playing chess a few years ago and now my 7 year old son wants me to teach him how to play. I'm not exactly good at teaching people how to do things, so I knew that I might need some help to try and teach him everything about playing chess.
I did find this really good instructional website with diagrams, which I think will help him a lot. It seems like he learns better by seeing things rather than being told about them anyway. So far he's been really responsive with it. He's just so smart that I know after a few more chess learning sessions that he'll start beating, actually beating me, as soon as we start playing it together.
